I am going to use the next 26 days to learn to speak slower

 

I feel art should always be used to improve yourself as a human being.

I would like to take this opportunity slow down, to become slower, to be slower.

 

Well, when I look around this room so far there is not so much 'art',

but I am aware in the presence of 'art' I become overwhelmed and transformed.

 

I am currently trying to make more pauses between what I say.

I don't know if you can tell I am not speaking naturally.

I am 'let's say' somewhat lost for words.

 

(Pause)

I am trying to breathe more.

I arch my back slightly and move my weight from left to right.

My knee cracks.

Is is working already?

Ok so. How many plugs can I see?

one, two, three, four, five

 

Maybe I should walk.

I am currently standing in the left hand corner of the space nearest the door,

quite close to the black curtain.

I am now going to walk diagonally across the space and count my steps as I go.

I can't actually get completely into the corner as there appears to be some sort of desk here.

I guess all there is to do now to do is begin.

I now have my face in the corner of the room. You may notice the difference in sound.

I turn and face back into the room.

 

I rock from the back of my heel to the front of my toes.

 

(The sound of footsteps on gravel)

 

I am going to try and do that again but slower this time.

I am gong to think slow thoughts.

I am going to think of slow moving traffic, and sloe gin and snails and sloths and........

flemish people.

 

I am going to begin now.
