DISCOVERING  AMERICA....

"We come in piece"

OUR JOURNEY

We are retracing the journey our Great-grandfathers took in emigrating to /colonising the America's. We travel by boat from Civitavecchia, (Italy)  - Baltimore  (USA). We  then travel from A's birth place to Z's birth place, in search of the feeling, that our Great-grandfathers built this place.

“....I want to agree with you but you are making it really hard for me”

“....I want to agree with you but you are making it really hard for me” is a multi layered, text-based performative work, that examined the construction of identity through an auto-ethnographic approach. The performance was initiated in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean as P_A_C sailed from Rome to the U.S to retrace their ancestral roots in the discovery of their American Identity.

The text is formed as part of this performative journey, as a satirical starting point, reacting on the construction of selves through the ideas of ancestry, gender, race, and notions of identity. Creating a mirror to each other’s image, to understand and live through the experience of what the influence of your mirror is on your performance of self. As well as how your social surroundings reinforce and structure your performance when addressed as a twin entity.

P_A_C understands performance as a continuous act, in which you are always performing yourself. The three month long journey, along side the performances in the gallery spaces will be become part of film/ documentary project that will be completed in mid 2017.
